Highest Professional Standards
We adhere to the highest professional standards in the industry. We are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), and require our professional staff to successfully complete continuing education credits required by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). The firm participates in the AICPA/NYSSCPA peer review program, and we have achieved unqualified approval of our quality control for accounting and auditing practice. We are also a member of the Governmental Audit Quality Center (GAQC).
In addition, we conduct in-house seminars for our own staff to ascertain that their knowledge is comprehensive and current. As a service option, we provide workshops and seminars for our clients as well. Our training is authorized and accredited by the New York State Department of Education and the University of the State of New York for issue-related CPE credits.
Latest Technology
We seek to make "cutting edge" technology available to you, our client, in order to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Since 2000 NC has implemented a paperless audit work paper system which has enabled us to provide high quality services while improving efficiency. Since 2003 we have used CCH Prosystem Fx Engagement and Tax applications. This permits staff in the field to interact remotely with senior audit management making the audit review process more dynamic and streamlined.
NC audit staff use laptops which enable them to log into the firm's network when in the field at your organizations site and they have connectivity into our main firm servers. This permits them to share files and quickly resolve questions or audit issues in a timely manner. Our audit group does not require continuous attention from your organizations staff and we will provide periodic evaluation on the audit progress, indicating any open issues before the audit is completed.
In 1999, we became the first CPA firm in the Northeast to offer the AccuLink System7, which enabled clients to harness computer technology to outsource most bookkeeping functions to our highly trained professional staff located in our office. In 2001, as web-based solutions were developed and proven to be secure and reliable, we introduced our clients to Intacct, a powerful and effective web-based accounting software.
Our managers and staff can provide expert technical assistance in all facets of Intacct, as it relates to your accounting needs, from initial implementation to on-going support and training. NC had the foresight and vision to utilize Intacct early on. Today, Intacct is the front-runner in financial software solutions winning the 2009 Software & Information Industry (SIIA) CODiE Award for "Best Financial Software Solutions." In addition to Intacct, our staff is proficient in QuickBooks, Fund E-Z, Great Plains and a variety of other financial software programs.
